-Aleksandar Popovic was born on April 24, 1973. He was with the Department as an teaching assistant since the end of 1997 and was killed on June 1, 1999, during NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. At the time, he was a reservist soldier serving on an anti-aircraft missile battery.

-During his education, Aleksandar was the best pupil and then the best student of his generation. During his short academic career (a year and a half), Aleksandar was a coauthor of 5 research papers (mostly abroad) and 3 textbooks.
